A famous poet (Well Ford Prefect to be exact) once said that time is an illusion, lunch time doubly so. The way that 2016 has whistled past makes it seem more of an illusion than reality. With only a few days to go before 2017 hits us – hopefully next year won’t have such a high death toll as this one did. May the force be with you, Rockin’ all over the World and Careless Whispers will never be the same again.
The last few months has seen little action on the website, this will change next year, I’m going to dedicate a few evenings a week onto it as the hits are pitiful and makes me wonder if it is worth it. My Chidham Light Railway website had over 250,000 hits when it was cancelled way back, I think that websites are becoming a thing of the past, nowadays everything appears to be on YouTube, and we all know just how trustworthy You Tube is, don’t we?
So 2017 will see some “How To” articles and PDF’s of 16mm plans for the garden, starting with some simple diesel plans to fit on the IP chassis, along with the FIMO people as I came along a link the other day where someone wanted to know how to make them, so watch this space for 2017.
I’ve spent some pleasant evenings making some Metcalfe ‘N’ gauge kits (the station is at the top) ready for the ‘N’ gauge layout I’m planning, I’m useless at planning on paper first, so I need some real objects that help with the size and dimensions I’m working to, as well to plan the height of the rear back scene. The original idea was to get base boards made for me, but now I’m heading towards using the thick boards of foam used for loft insulation, with a simple wooden framing surrounding it prevent the foam being chipped off it if it hits door ways etc. Hopefully by the end of January the first baseboard will be ready for track laying and will be an article on the website, and maybe Railway Modeller.
Also, the HG P402 has arrived in kit form and will be made on a YoutTube video later, along with a Viper Crawler ESC from Modelsport and Etronix TX/RX.
The snakes has been removed from the site, it was supposed to be Jake’s job to update the pictures and video’s but he hasn’t really bothered so I’ve removed them, they’re not really my sort of thing anyway, so anyway as you can tell the website has been redesigned slightly to make it easier to navigate.
So, New Year’s resolution is to be a bit more active on the website front, so keep watching and see if I keep to it!!
